Hellow fellow GAMSATees,
I was wondering if there was anyone in these forums who was planning on sitting the GAMSAT in 2010?
This is when I will be sitting the test, although I have started studying now, ! |

Hey. I am also planning to sit the GAMSAT in 2010. However I am also sitting it this year as a sort of 'test run' you could say. The next year will go alot quicker then we expect I think.
Good luck studying. |

| I am going to sit Gamsat in 2010. But I have not started studying yet because I just made the decision in these days. Hope we can help each other here. Could you tell me what kinds of preparatory course you have taken? I had my bachelor and master degree in nursing and medicine overseas and english is my second language. I am afraid the preparation will be very hard for me, so I should start to prepare Gamsat ASAP. Is there anyonehere who has such similiar experience and can share his or her experience with me? |

| I have not taken a prep course yet however plan to this year. I am studying first year uni level chemistry and bio and year 12 physics (by myself from texts) and then plan to take one of the courses later in the year. I also plan to practice as much as possible at the questions. I found the section one practice questions difficult at first however the more questions i completed the easier they became. Also starting to focus on political issues in the papers and things to help prepare for the essay section. good luck |

Hi all
I have just found this forum. I will be planning a career change and will be sitting the 2010 GAMSAT, im scared shi*tless as it seems really hard.
One observation that i have made is that members dont seem to share resources.
Is there a link section where we can post links to all good resources?
Has anyone scanned in practice tests so we can do them?
Hope that we can all help each other get through this grueling task! |

Hi,
GAMSAT isn;t really as hard as you think it is, more so if you have a year with you.
I am not sure if you can scan and upload practice tests. This forum might face copyright issues if it is used as a medium to share copyrighted content.
Not many guys have yet shared resources, but I am sure lot of guys will join in if you initiate it.
Cheers
PS: I am not the moderaor, nor a decision maker in this forum. So take my point on sharing scanned copies with a pinch of salt. |

i sat the GAMSAT the first time yesterday!!and guys...if you want to go well in it..and feel confident..start studying now...really..there is no such thing as studying too much and it wont do any harm!!..
i have learnt from this..that i can learn a hell of a lot more...so yeah..i dont have my score yet ..but being as positive as i can be!!..but i maybe sitting it next year ...i am pretty sure i will do a prep course..i think the money is worth it..i think an exam like this...help they provide you..i think will def boost people's marks etc..and it kinda gives a lot more guidance than studying on your own!!..so yeah..any advice for courses...mediprep international?....des o'niel?...ozimed?...any thoughts...? |

Hi Rapee,
Great to know that you are all charged up.
You rightly said "really..there is no such thing as studying too much and it wont do any harm!!.." It is good to start early. But then, ensure that you pace your preparation and peak at the right time. Preparing for GAMSAT is not a 100 m sprint, it is a 32 km marathon. If you are starting early, ensure that you maintain the momentum and focus.
Cheers |

thanks for the heads up...yeah....my ideal plan starting early if you are studying for next years..is chipping at GAMSAT study nightly..even an hour or less of reading...or watever..i think that can keep the momentum going...as embarassingly i like to self study subjects and topics of interest..as i love learning about the world etc and what it has to offer....i know that sounds sad...and freaky...i love studying...i was encouraged to read encyclopedias when i was younger..so that may be the reason im like this now!!!...your probably thinking im a freak!!but i have always worked at a nurse whilst studying..as i cant handle full time work..i get really bored and need that stimulation!!and i am happy!!!but il take on your advice and ensure that i pace and keep the level of motivation at a constant... |

I am definately sitting the GAMSAT next year. But it depends on how I got this year. My friends think I am a sucker for study. I am currently working full-time and doing my masters. Its all about time management really. If you want something bad enough you can get there.
I don't think I passed the GAMSAT this year. But If I at least Pass one section of it. I will be very proud of myself either way. |

I'd take an educated guess that you come out as an INTP on Jungian personality tests.
INTPs, and I'm one, have a tendency to become fascinated by a topic and immerse themselves in it for a while until they become extremely knowledgable in it. Their attention span may not last indefinitely though, and soon they will find something else to obsessively study. Often the interests are highly eclectic...
There are some topics I remain highly interested in and still read a lot about, but over the years in this way I've picked up various computer languages, knowledge of certain historical events and people, Australian native plants, carnivorous plants, tropical fish, astronomy, telescope making, cycling and bicycle maintenance, performance driving technique and sport car tuning, investment, accelerated learning and speed reading, composite materials engineering, life extension (SENS project), religious/antireligious debates and other things.
My house is full of bookshelves full of books on all that stuff and my computer has vast amounts of ebooks and saved internet links.
The trick of course is keeping that focus on whatever you're supposed to be studying for. It is all very well to become a great expert on carnivorous plants, but if you're supposed to be studying for a chemistry exam you should put that copy of The Savage Garden down and try to focus!
I've always had a hard time with that.
Fortunately, I'm in a manic GAMSAT study phase at the moment. I'm actually having to allocate time on my calendar and try to stick to studying at those times, because I don't want to burn out and I still have other things to do, like my day job! |

Hi all,
Ive just stumbled upon this forum and am-i-glad. I decided to sit GAMSAT 2010 about a week ago which has caused endless self inflicted anxieties -though this is a reflection of my own insecurities, its nice to see GAMSAT makes other people nervous too heheheh
Rapee, what you said really resonates with me - i rarely find anyone else who gets the never-ending call to keep studying.
does anyone know if the MediRed study material is any good? im about to spend a lot of money on it.
Thanks guys! |
