GAMSAT STUDY GROUP FOR 2011 SITTING - MELBOURNE

Hi everyone
Well our study group had its first initial meet up today. The four members that showed up proved that they are all like minded and ready to acheive the same goal.

We have decided to ultimately meet up every couple of weeks at the RMIT city library (thanks Lauren). However our next meeting is at 11am on Thursday the 15th of July.

We have an established study schedule, whereby we all study the same topics over the certain period between meetups. The meetups will then consist of discussions regarding those topics and then Gamsat questions r for those topics. Questions will be done with input fom everyone in the group.

If there are any new members that want to join, please contact me and i will gladly pass on the material needing to be covered by our next meeting.

So therefore

GAMSAT STUDY GROUP 2ND OFFICIAL MEETING.

When: 15/07/2010
Time: 11am-whenever you can stay untill

Sorry for those who are struggling to make the meetings on weekdays but so far this is what everyone has wanted. There are other factors that will come into play when uni starts for some but it seems like thursday are the go for now.

To the guys who attended the meeting on thursday. I downloaded the file i was talking about, and its of no use to us. Its in a language i dont know and honestly doesnt look like anything to do with the Gamsat.

I guess we will discuss our approach to the course, when we get together on the 15th.

Due to a number of people not being able to make the gamsat meeting tomorrow. It has been postponed to next week.

Hi everyone
so sorry about leaving some of you in the lurch. I unfortunately have had some personal issues and haven't been able to keep up with what's going on. As far as I know the meeting for thursday the 22nd of July has been cancelled.

I guess we need to organize another day as I haven't heard much from the other members of the group. Please PM me the days everyone is free as as of next week and I will organise Nanother meet up.

Ive been smashed with emails regarding times for us to meet up. Looks like the best time that everyone is free or might be able to attend but be a bit late is

So tentativley this is the time im trying to organise.

For the guys that attended the first meeting, i hope you all will be there and we can continue with what we had planned. For all those people that will be new to the group, you guys are going to have to catch up. (dont worry its not much)

Hi guys,

I've been looking at sitting the GAMSAT in 2011 for a while now. I've collected quite a bit of information (Gold Standard, Medired, Gamsat Pro and a bunch of former GAMSAT practice papers) but had found the time and motivation lacking due to work commitments.

I'm starting from scratch, but I'd really like to join your group. I completed a Medical Science degree way back in 2003 but have been working in public sector since. I live close to the CBD so can meet up with you guys at the State Library or around there.

Worried my GPA isn't up to scratch, but I've been wanting to give the gammy a go for a very long time and figure 2011 is the year.

I currently a paramedic wanting to make the jump across to med and the first hurdle is the GAMSAT 2011.

I have a pretty average GPA aswell! Nevermind. We must give it a go anyway! Exhaughst the opportunity!

Meetings are on a Thursday but I haven't been able to meet up as I work 9-5. Ayhan is on the ball with organising meetings.

Hi Guys
Thanks to the new guys that made the journey today for the induction meeting to the group.

We didnt do much today but a further three people were added to the group. That makes 7.
We have a variety of backgrounds

Ayhan- medical Science.
Daniel- health and teaching.
Courtney- psych
Laura- psych and law
Cristine- nutrition
Paris- ambo, teaching, science
Anita- science.

We also have a fair few people that want to attend but have not yet been able too. For you guys unfortunately we wont be having another "fill you in" session. If you would like to attend please come on the days that i post and we will try to slot you in as best as we can. im sure it will be fine. For now try and study chemistry topics as much as possible.

Our program is as follows.

General meetings every two weeks. In between meetings a set amount of study work will be given that all members are expected to study to the best of their ability.

The meetings will consist of discussions regarding any topics that werent understood and then a big batch of exam questions that all in the group will go through together.

Our next official study session will be on

Thursday the 5th of August
Meet at the front of state library.

Please come with you thinking caps on as this will be a doozy of a session.

how is everyone doing?

I was wondering if any of you wants to meet up earlier than 11 am, on Thursday, as I start uni at 11.30 and I will probably just stay for 20 minutes if we start at 11.
