Hey,
Its great that you want to appear for GAMSAT. There are loads of good study material available in the market. These range from study materials to sample test papers. What you first need to do is identify your weak areas and then proceed accordingly. Have a plan of study ready which takes care of your particular needs. Don't rush into anything, take your time in deciding which course/ material for you.

Hi Rmanisha8,
I'd get hold of your Acer sample test papers and work from there. You'll start to get a feel for which sections you're strongest at and which you need to work on 1, 2, or 3.
If section 1 is weak, start reading a lot, listen to podcasts, listen to BBC radio 4, read newspapers and journals, read new scientist, nature, the National Geographic. watch TED and get a feel for the scientific, analytical yet intuitive form of verbal reasoning that you're expected to have (and which will stand you in good stead as a doctor)
If section 2 is weak TED is a great source of inspiration. Much of the supporting evidence for my essay answers was taken from TED talks I'd listened to. Practice pulling out two opposing arguments and drawing parallels and distinctions in short essay format.
If section 3 is weak you need to learn degree level chemistry and biology and high school physics. Use Wikipedia, YouTube, Google University and blogs like my own revisegamsat. The Biology is not too hard. The chemistry is tough but can be learned. The physics is intermediate but only forms 20% of the exam.
Good luck with it! |
