What is the difference?
In my area there is the undergraduate medicine at monash, clayton. I have been to its info page on the monash uni website, and it says it is 5 years long.
The postgraduate medicine in my area is at Gippsland and it does not have much info on its page compared to the undergraduate medicine, and it says it is only 4 years long.
I was under the impression postgraduate medicine and undergraduate medicine were the same, but after reading about it on the monash website, it would seem they are not.
Can anyone enlighten me as to what the differences are? They are both called the MBBS, so are they basically the same qualifiction? Do they have the same career outlook, and how simillar is the content?
Thanks. |

Thanks Sandy. It was interesting, I noticed that some doctors at my local clinic had their qualifications listed as MBBS and some had M.B.B.S. Is the difference (ie the dots in between) due to wether they studied medicine as a postgraduate or an undergraduate?
On a side note, one of the doctors had (HONS) in capitals, listed after the M.B.B.S, and one of them had (Hons) in lower caps. Why would this be, does anyone know? |

MBBS = M.B.B.S just as Hons = HONS.
Differences in formatting, that's all. |
